So i'm 18 and am sorta new to having a goatee but its still semi-short. It kills like if i rub it or anything its painful. why is this and is there anything i can do. Its almost like the shaft of the hair is sore.

it happens like this at the beginning, u'll get used to it. just massage some oil on the area, leave it for some time then wash it off. this will soften the shaft

YOU PROBABLY RUB IT TO MUCH OR HAVE VERY SENSITIVE SKIN TRY SHAVING IT SO IT COULD GROW THICKER AND LONGER YOUR SKIN WILL ALSO GET USE TO IT

Your face is in pain because your skin is young and tender. If you shaved it for a few years and then let your goatee grow out, it would not be as sensative as it is now.

since it doesnt take long to grow a goatee, shave it off(temporarolly) and lotion and moisterize it lots(the place it will grow back) and when it grows back, it should be less painfull or not painfull at all!
