Is it bad to pluck facial hair?

I do not understand why everyone keeps saying that shavign does not make the hair thicker, it OBVIOUSLY does, just look at the people who shave regularly, their hair is thick as hell. I have some hair around my cheek bone area, and i want to know if plucking them is a good idea, will they end up the same as if they were shaved? I've plucked some, and it doesnt seem to be growning back, but i am worried, please help =(

nope they won't. plucking them (or waxing) them on a regular basis will actually make the hair grow in thinner. i wouldnt worry too much about it as hair can take 2-6 weeks to grow back after you pluck/wax it depending on its growth cycle. hope it wasnt too painful.

the only reason shaving SEEMS to make hair look thicker is because the hair is actually still growing in so you are "cutting" it in the middle of the hair which is the thickest part

Honey, shaving does not make the hair thicker. That myth has been debunked by countless medical professionals. Has it occurred to you that people with thick hair shave *because* it is thick?! Plucking is not harmful, just painful. After being plucked over an extended period of time the hair follicle can become damaged and the hair does not grow.

I have some facial hairs. 2 to be exact and I pluck them. They do not seem to grow back thicker, but sometimes they grow in and get ingrown, so it looks like a pimple.

Shaving DOES make your hair grow back darker and more coarse. You can pluck, and it wont grow back thicker, the least painful way of doing this is to hld you skin back as tightly as you can while you pluck. But waxing is the best, b/c it pulls it out straight from the root, takes a long time to grow back, and when it does grow back, it grows back thinner and less visible.
