My facial hair is so dark (im f!) im considering shaving off my "mustash" area! bad idea?

i have both light %26amp; dark hair on my "mustash" area or whatever you want to call it, the center is really light, but at the ends on the end, its alil darker and very visible. im seeing someone really important tomorrow and im considering shaving it, because im out of wax and i cant stand to pluck every bit of it, its so sensitive and it hurts! i usually keep it waxed (i used to have my own waxing kit at home i used every three weeks) but im out and im VERY DESPERATE!! do you think this will be bad?

Shaving will only blunt the ends, and when it grows back it will look darker and thicker. Don't shave!

If anything, bleach or wax. Go see a salon before you meet that important person tomorrow. It will be worth it!

you run the risk of after-shave bumps... i think those look worse (sketchier around ur mouth) than facial hair...

I been told that once you wax your mustache it grows back even more darker and then its a pain in the butt having to get it waxed. Just don't pay mind to your mustache and you'll be fine. I bet others don't find it so bad. Good luck.

YES ITS A BAD IDEA!!!!!! two of my friends did it....they look like a MAN!!!!!! becuase when it starts growing, it shows little dots. My friend tryed to shave the dots.......didnt work!!!!!

i tried sumthing different.....I bleached it! (but i took it off before the blonde started to show other wise itll be REALLY noticeable cuz itll be shiny!)

so i took it off when it turned my skin color.

You can get it waxed for no more than $8 dollars at any nail salon or maybe a little more at a spa. Waxing it will prevent the hair from coming in thicker and it will take a couple of weeks before you have to get it done again. Shaving could possibly lead to ingrown hairs, and that's no good!

I'd try a tiny portion of it shaved -- if you can still see the color of the hair under the skin because your skin is light or translucent, you're best to use a facial hair bleach or wax. If you don't have time or cash for the little container of facial bleach (most of which last for months), you're stuck plucking or shaving and using concealer/foundation makeup to mask the "shadow" of hair left under the skin.

I used to buy into that idea that shaving will make it grow thicker, but I now think that shaving leaves the ends blunt-cut so they just seem thicker. If anything makes them actually grow thicker, it is tweezing aka plucking. If your hairs are fine, I think you can shave. (I have now for years, and it has been a huge improvement over damaging my skin with all that bleach). If they are coarse, then you risk shaving bumps for your important meeting tomorrow... and so I would suggest either that late-night trip to the pharmacy for whatever has worked for you, or just leave them alone. What the other writer said was true...we notice our flaws so much more than everyone else! Please be nice to yourself, be your own cheerleader...and I hope you have a great time tomorrow!

You need an epilator to remove facial hair. Emjoi epilators work great. Braun epilators are really good too. Use an epilator to remove the hair, and it will be gone for four to six weeks.
