Men: Do you think a woman with facial hair is unattractive?

I was diagnosed with PCOS about 8 or 9 years ago, and one of the symptoms for some are hair under the chin and above the top lip (like a mustache). I am dark-skinned so it is not that noticeable on me unless you're up close, but I try to keep it waxed or shaved. When my husband tries to touch me on the face I dodge so he can't feel the hair. I feel gross when we kiss because I feel like I have whiskers. The hair doesn't grow in that thick on the top of my lip, but under my chin it grows a little thicker (not like a beard, but too much hair for a woman in my opinion). He knows the hair is there. I have went to the doctor for this and they do have a medicine (Spironolactone) that can stop the hair growth, even birth control pills can help, but because I don't want to take anything that could further intefere with my infertility issues I have opted not to take anything for the hair.

Guys, do you find this unattractive or am I overreacting? Any of you ladies going through this?

sorry you're dealing with this have you thought about electrolis(sp?) i think it permanently removes stuff like this and there's a new medication on the market that works wonder (or so it states) ask your dermatologist

We are always our own worst critics. Be thankful that your husband loves you regardless. I bet your hair is not as bad as you think it is. Because we look at ourselves everyday, we see all the fine details that most people cannot. Try and be secure with who you are because facial hair is not how people define you. You probably have a good heart, and that is how people will recognize you.

Maybe you can try permanent hair removal on your facial areas. I am naturally kind of hairy and my husband sometimes jokes about it, which is VERY annoying! I try to stay waxed, but am considering laser hair removal myself.

no as long as she shaves. My gf grows a small amount under her chin, she shaves, so it doesn't bother me at all.

If I can't see it I wouldn't have any thoughts about it. If I can see it I would think it was unattractive. The shaving is making it grow in thicker. I have no idea if it's true or not but I was told once that plucking the hairs out with a tweeser would stop them from growing back. I was also told it would hurt like hell. Like I said though, this could be total crap.

Do you shave your happy place? That might help. I would like to say, " If it's love then it doesn't matter" but, thats horse poo. Women don't like when a guy goes "Downtown" with stubble because of irritation. You don't think your chin turf wouldn't be a little bothersome? A little consideration for a brother, please! It is unattractive. I don't think any straight guy wants to kiss a bearded lady. Of course there are weird guys out there.

Pcos and It symptoms can have an emotional effect as well as physical. I am a electrologist , I perform permanent hair removal. I can speak about this because I have seen many clients that have this disorder resulting in hair growth. Taking any medication will not "remove" the hair, It will simply keep you from converting new hair growth, So what hair you have will remain. Reading your question, you are not alone, many women have told me the same story about dodging a hand or a kiss to avoid being embarressed by hair. Maybe it is not my place to say, but I recommend you consider a reputable electrologist and have it removed. If at some point you decide to go thru fertility treatments, the problem may become out of control ( I have seen it happen). Take care of it, you will be happy and so will your hubby! Good Luck
