If I have facial hair, will it catch extra dirt and grime that could be transmited into my lungs thus making it a health hinderance to have a beard?

Facial hair does have the ability to hold airborn things that can be bothersome. But, are you gonna shave your beard just because of that? What about the hair on your head?? As long as you keep it clean, I think you'll be fine. Also, a short, trimmed beard or goatee is more sanitary than a long stringy beard like ZZ Top has!

Your beard may collect dust if you're Rip Van Winkle. Otherwise, you clean it everyday when you bathe - I wouldn't worry.
